Anandasankar Ray, "From chemicals to behavior: modeling the insect olfactory system"

Dr. Anandasankar Ray is Associate Professor of Entomology at UC Riverside.

The main focus of his laboratory is to understand the molecular, neuronal and physiological basis of insect chemoreception and behavior, specifically as they relate to odor guided behaviors. He is a founder of SensoryGen, an Encinitas, California startup that is developing new natural approaches to combatting mosquitoes that could offer protection from deadly diseases like Zika, dengue fever and malaria.
