Isabel Rodriguez - Barraquer, "Characterizing the global emergence of arboviruses"

Isabel Rodríguez-Barraquer is an Assistant Professor in the Division of HIV, ID and Global Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. Prior to joining UCSF, Isabel obtained an MD from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia and completed doctoral and post-doctoral work at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Isabel’s research focuses in applying novel epidemiological and statistical methods to understand the dynamics of infectious diseases and inform control interventions. Most of her work has focused on understanding shifts in the epidemiology of vector borne diseases including dengue, Zika and malaria, combining empirical data collection with statistical/mathematical modeling.
