Richard Borowsky, "A New Look at Sperm Competition"

September 30, 2019 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm
Clark Center Auditorium S001

Richard Borowsky is an evolutionary biologist who has worked primarily with fresh-water fish populations. Until recently, his primary focus has been on the convergent evolution of troglomorphic traits in cave adapted fishes. In the past few years he has turned to the study of sperm competition and the role of sperm haploid genotypes in determination of sperm phenotypes. Oddly enough, the two subjects are related; the cavefish system is ideal to study sperm competition.
