Rob Pringle, "Assembly, destruction, and reconstruction of Africa's savanna ecosystems"

October 10, 2016 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm
LKSC 130

Free and open to the public.

A former graduate student in the Department of Biology at Stanford, Rob Pringle is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Princeton University. His lab works in multiple settings and at multiple spatial scales to understand how natural systems are assembled and how they respond to (and recover from) anthropogenic disturbance. Although large-scale, long-term field experiments are the foundation for much of this research, they are increasingly interested in the use of DNA metabarcoding to elucidate food-web structure and enable mechanistic inference.
