Special Screening of Documentary Film 'Tomorrow'

Please join us for a special screening of 'Tomorrow' ('Demain' in French), a new film by actress/filmmaker Mélanie Laurent and environmental activist and documentarian Cyril Dion, followed by a panel discussion with Dion and Stanford experts in the field of environmental research. 

César award-winning documentary 'Tomorrow' tells the story of its co-producers/co-directors, Cyril Dion and Melanie Laurent. Cyril Dion, a French activist, author and journalist, discovered a 2012 study co-authored by Stanford scientists Anthony Barnosky and Elizabeth Hadly, “Approaching a state shift in the Earth biosphere” published in Nature, which discussed how humankind could be suffering between 2040 and 2100 if drastic changes are not made to the world's predominant way of life. He shared his concerns with his friend, actress and filmmaker Melanie Laurent, who for several years has been involved in his NGO Colibris and Greenpeace. Unnerved by the understanding that food and water would be scarce and climate catastrophes common within the lifetime of their own children, the friends visited different countries across the world to explore solutions to these pressing environmental concerns.

The film focuses on imparting not just valuable information about grassroots efforts in local communities to make environmental change a reality but on inspiring others with a hopeful call to action for a better tomorrow.
