Dominique Bergmann and Marc Feldman appointed as Associate Chairs

Professor Dominique Bergmann has been appointed Cell, Molecular and Organismal Biology Associate Chair in the Department of Biology effective September 1, 2020.  Dr. Bergmann is Professor of Biology and an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Dr. Bergmann joined the Biology Department in 2005 as an Assistant Professor. Her research program investigates how plants customize their cells and tissues to adapt and thrive in changing environments. This work scales from the microscopic to the field plot and from events that occur in seconds, to those that unfold over hundreds of years.

Professor Marc Feldman has been appointed Ecology and Evolution Associate Chair in the Department of Biology effective September 1, 2020.  Dr. Feldman is  Burnet C. and Mildred Finley Wohlford Professor in the School of Humanities and Sciences, Director, Morrison Institute for Population Biology and Resources Studies and Co-Director, Center for Computational, Evolutionary and Human Genetics.

Dr. Feldman joined the Biology Department in 1971 as Assistant Professor.  His research program investigates human genetic and cultural evolution, mathematical biology, and demography of China.
