Erasing memories to stop drug relapse

In a new paper, published July 16 in Neuron,researchers in the lab of Xiaoke Chen, associate professor of biology, interrupted a neural pathway responsible for opiate-associated memories in mice. Their success in preventing relapse in rodents may one day translate to an enduring treatment of opioid addiction in people.

Xiaoke Chen is also a member of Bio-X and the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute.
