Judith Frydman, a professor of genetics and biology and the Donald Kennedy Chair in the School of Humanities and Sciences, is among the nine Stanford faculty members who were elected to membership in the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, one of the country’s oldest and most prestigious honorary learned societies. The Academy honors exceptional scholars, leaders, artists and innovators. Frydman's research aims to understand how proteins fold in living cells. Frydman’s lab also explores how cell impairment is linked to disease, including cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.
