Viktor Feketa completed a medical degree at Uzhgorod National University, Ukraine, and obtained a PhD at
Baylor College of Medicine. His PhD work explored pharmacological manipulation of the molecular
temperature sensors to induce therapeutic hypothermia. He then joined the lab of Dr. Elena Gracheva at Yale
School of Medicine for postdoctoral training, where he studies the mechanisms of cold sensing in the
mammalian brain and hibernation in ground squirrels.
